Well, folks, it's the most wonderful time of the year, and my feathered friends decided to add a little quack to the festivities. You see, I have a small flock of ducks who, while adorable, possess a certain... enthusiasm for all things shiny and new.
So, when I proudly unveiled our Christmas tree, all aglow with twinkling lights and festive ornaments, I should have known better than to leave it unattended. It was like a ducky Disneyworld! They waddled over, craned their necks, and started quacking up a storm.
At first, it was kind of cute. They were so curious, pecking at the tinsel and trying to taste the ornaments. But then, things took a turn for the worse. One particularly adventurous duck decided to grab the tree, sending ornaments crashing to the floor. It was a ducky demolition derby!
I tried to shoo them away, but they were having too much fun. I even tried offering them some garden peas, but they were more interested in the tree. In the end, I had to resort to putting them in the bath tub for a quick swim then back out to their yard to play and rest up for the evening.
So, if you're planning on putting up a Christmas tree this year, I have one piece of advice: duck the decorations! Or at least keep a close eye on your feathered friends. Don't let the ducks eat anything off your tree and Merry Quackmas to all ya'll!
